Catching up

Gracious! Time flies when you're having fun! So much has happened since I last posted! You are on the go, My Sweet! It's all I can do to keep up with you! Just this morning, I was trying to brush my teeth, and you dipped my hairbrush in the toilet! (Yesterday, it was my shoe in the dogs' water bowl.)Here are some highlights over the past several months:

Your first Christmas - It was so special to celebrate our first Christmas together! You didn't understand what was going on yet. You weren't very interested in your presents. Can you imagine that? You DID, however, have fun waking up in the morning, listening to Da-do read the Christmas story from the Bible, and spending time with us on the living room floor, swimming in wrapping paper! You also had fun playing with your cousins when we had Christmas with everyone else! We were surprised at how well you stayed away from the Christmas tree in our living room. Every now and then, you'd go over and poke at one of the lights, mouth open, very carefully, and then you'd go on to something else!

Your first birthday - December 31st - We were so excited to celebrate your first birthday with you! We sent out invitations that had pictures of you from every month of your first year of life...with a picture of a robot cupcake on it! You had a new playmat on the floor in the living room with your new toybox, and it was a great place for all of your friends to play. Momma accidentally let it slip that we were expecting Oliver when she was talking to some friends, but they promised not to say anything. You loved your cake! You were a little slow getting started, but once you figured out how wonderful cake is, you ate and ate! You got so messy that I had to strip you down and putyou in the tub. I remember digging cake out of your ears. There were so many people who love you at our house, it was standing room only!

The blizzard of February, 2011. That's right, a BLIZZARD in Tulsa! We were stuck inside the house for days because no one could drive on the deep snow in the streets. Once we got out, we started having lots of fun! Here are some pictures of Dad with his friend and neighbor, Paul pretending they're watching the Super Bowl with the snowmen they made, and you with me and Dad when we went sledding! (I didn't sled, because Oliver was in my tummy.) :)

Walking - April 1st - 15 months old - We were at Ghee and Paw Paw's house celebrating Uncle Justin's birthday, and when we came inside from swimming in then pool, you were standing at the coffee table, and you excitedly let go and stumbled over to the couch. After that, you spent a long time going back and forth as we all cheered you on. uncle Justin got a safe for his birthday, and you made us all laugh because you loved pushing the buttons so much. You would act like you were losing interest, and then you'd be pulled back to it like a moth to a flame - my big walking boy!

Here are a few pictures from your second Easter:Now Momma needs to add Oliver in to the conversation, because he is now two months old!

What a blessing you have been, Oliver! You are a good sleeper, and such a sweet boy when you are awake. You started smiling when you were about 4 weeks old. You love to lie in your crib and watch your Teddy bear mobile go. When you see me come to crank it up, you start smiling and kicking your legs. :) your big brother loves you, too! He started talking right when we brought you home from the hospital. he calls you "Ollie," and he started giving you kisses when you were only one and a half weeks old. You were on the bed with Calvin and Daddy, and Calvin just crawled over and gave you a kiss. Now Calvin kisses the whole family, but you were the first. He had the idea to kiss you because he loves you so much! We all do. We're so blessed to have you as a part of our family!
